A different community model
What if your Discord server was a world?
Your community already has lore, regulars, rituals, and places everyone remembers. Taverns gives that community a more expressive home, then connects it to player-created experiences.
- A front door
- Rooms with purpose
- Destinations beyond chat

Look closely
Your server already has lore
It has the joke nobody remembers starting, the member who always arrives late, the annual event, the cursed emoji, and the quiet room where the best conversations happen. That is already the beginning of a world.
Community software usually stores those things as messages and settings. Members experience them as history, characters, rituals, and places.

Keep what works
A sidebar can organize a community without representing it
Channels are efficient containers, but they do not show what a group feels like. Start with the Discord structure people know: a channel list, member roles, familiar rooms, and a place to talk. Taverns keeps those practical ideas so the move does not begin with a new vocabulary test.
Then change the feeling of arrival. Give the entrance a visual identity, let profiles feel like inhabitants, and make conversations a path toward shared events and player-created experiences. The detailed community model lives in our guide to communities as worlds.
The visual story
Imagine the server opening into somewhere you can visit
A hall icon becomes a door. A chat background sets the atmosphere. Profile images become recognizable inhabitants. A conversation about playing together leads toward a player-created Wonder.
The transformation is not an argument for replacing useful chat with a novelty interface. It is a way to let practical community structure carry more feeling.

Available now and growing next
Chat is open now. Creator access remains separate.
People can create and join Taverns in the browser today. Wonders form the connected player-created experience layer, while Wonders Studio is distributed separately to approved desktop creators.
A Tavern does not automatically include a Wonder. Communities can begin with a home for conversation and grow toward a playable destination as a separate creative project.
Start with people
A world does not need terrain on day one
Create a Tavern, give it a visual identity, organize the halls, invite the regulars, and let the community show you what kind of shared place it wants next. Strong worlds begin with people and habits before they begin with maps.
