How do I change my Aether Name?

Your Aether Name is 3 to 20 characters and can contain letters, numbers, and underscores. It is unique across the platform and case-insensitive, so Stormcaller and stormcaller are the same name.

A new account receives a generated name. Your first custom name change does not use the normal cooldown. After that you can rename once every 30 days, which helps prevent abusive handle cycling.

When you rename, your old name is held for you as a redirect for 30 days. Links, mentions, and profile lookups that use the old name keep resolving to you during that window, and nobody else can claim it until the redirect expires.

Change your email or password

Open Settings and use the email or password option in your account profile. An email change asks you to re-authenticate and verify a 6-digit code sent to the new address before the change applies.

If you are locked out, use the password reset option on the sign-in screen and Taverns will email a reset link to the account address.

How do I enable two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a one-time code from a standard authenticator app on top of your password. Enroll from a supported client by scanning the QR code and confirming a time-based code. The web Security page can manage recovery codes for an account that already has 2FA enabled.

Generate recovery codes and store them somewhere safe. You receive 10 single-use codes and they are shown only once. If you lose access to the authenticator, a recovery code lets you sign in. Using one disables 2FA so you can complete sign-in; enable 2FA again afterward. Generating a fresh set invalidates the old codes.

Review active sessions

Settings, then Active Sessions lists the devices currently signed in to your account, including the app and platform for each session. You can sign out one session or sign out everything except the device you are using.

Taverns emails you by default when the account signs in from a new device. You can turn login alerts off in the account security controls.

Delete your account

From Account Settings you can choose immediate deletion or a scheduled deletion with a 14-day cancellation window. Immediate deletion cannot be canceled. If you schedule it, you can cancel until the receipt eligibility time. Apple-linked accounts are immediate-only; use Taverns on iOS for native Apple confirmation, or continue on the website and follow any Apple cleanup shown on the receipt.

Taverns removes your sign-in identity, profile, messages, connections, creator content, uploads, notifications, search records, and analytics identity. Completion is expected within seven days after deletion becomes eligible and is confirmed by a durable status receipt; email is optional. Narrow detached records may remain where required for another user entitlement, accounting, fraud or safety enforcement, consent or contact suppression, legal holds, and limited backup restoration controls.

Export your data

Request a copy of your data from Settings. Exports are prepared in the background, and Taverns emails a download link when the file is ready. The same screen shows the status of your latest request.
