Is the Discord migration tool free?
Yes. Adding the bot, running /migrate and creating your tavern are all free, and so is Taverns itself.
Does it copy messages or members?
No. Messages, message history and members stay on Discord. The tool copies your server’s setup, then you invite your people with a link. Your old server can stay open as an archive.
Will it change my Discord server?
No. The bot only reads your server’s setup. It doesn’t post, edit or delete anything, and its reply to /migrate is only visible to you.
What permissions do I need to move my Discord server?
Whoever adds the bot needs Manage Server, and whoever runs /migrate needs Administrator. The bot itself only asks Discord to view channels.
